“In this painting, Djindrin (willy wagtail) the storyteller is sharing some information with Nantu (a Kangaroo), who can pass this information to the Nantu Warra (Kangaroo talker) of the Narungga people. The circles and semi-circles represent the countless generations of cultural practice and embedded cultural beliefs. The dots represent the mallee scrub of Yorke Peninsula, and the pathways represent the Nantu, Djindrin and men’s path, all walking parallel.”
